Thesis Time

In “Ode to a Nightingale”, Keats uses the nightingale’s song as a metaphor for his desire for transcendence and self expression through poetry and the continuous presence beauty found in life.

My revision- In "Ode to a Nightingale," by John Keats, the nightingale is the subject of Keats' envy; its constant singing with carefree bliss of its surroundings shows its ability to transcend the reality of suffering and see instead the beauty of life.

Is the nightingale's song really a metaphor for Keats' desire, or does it simply represent what Keats desires to be able to do? Saying in your thesis that it is a metaphor will make the reader of your essay expect a specific explanation of why it is a metaphor.

Your thesis is fantastic but can you expand on it by backing up Keats' desire? Your thesis definitely makes me want to read more.
